Responsibilities

  • Designing schema, access patterns, locking strategy, and tuning Oracle Databases in an enterprise environment
  • Modifying the database structure, creating and updating existing database objects per application needs
  • Configuring, monitoring, and Cache management for Oracle database servers
  • Implementing and supporting Oracle on AWS / Linux platforms
  • Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system
  • Understanding Exadata hardware and software components, including storage cells, InfiniBand networking, and Smart Scan technology
  • Managing storage using Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM)
  • Proficiency in one or more shell scripting languages
  • Authoring code in SQL, PL / SQL
  • Designing and implementing backup / restore services and disaster recovery (DR) solutions
  • Installing and upgrading the database software and applying patches
  • Demonstrating good analytical, technical, time management, and communication skills
  • Participating in on-call rotation and weekend work

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Oracle Database design, tuning, and performance optimization in enterprise environments
  • Experience with Oracle on AWS / Linux
  • Experience with Exadata components and storage management
  • Experience with Oracle ASM storage management
  • Shell scripting proficiency
  • SQL and PL / SQL development
  • Backup / DR design and implementation
  • Excellent analytical, technical, time management, and communication skills
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and weekend work
