Are you an experienced forklift operator looking for a dynamic opportunity in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking a skilled forklift operator to join our team. As a forklift operator, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement of materials in a busy lumbar yard at our Charlotte, NC location. Safely loading, and transporting materials throughout the yard and supporting smooth day to day operartions. Schedule : Monday - Friday, 7am-3 : 30pm

Starting Pay : $18 / hour.

JOB FUNCTIONS : Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

  • Operate forklift to load and unload recycled wood materials.
  • Inspect forklift and material handling equipment daily to ensure safe operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized yard environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols including the use of PPE.
  • Work closely with yard team to ensure safe transport of materials to storage and staging area.
  • Comply with company policies and guidelines.
  • Assist in keeping a safe environment.

Other duties as assigned.

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of experience operating an industrial type forklift.
  • Ability to operate a forklift in various environments and conditions.
  • Strong attention to safety protocols and operational guidelines.
  • Valid Driver's License.

    • EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of safety regulations, load capacity limits, stability considerations, and best practices for forklift operation in various environments.
  • Basic understanding of forklift mechanics, including routine maintenance, pre- and post-operation inspections, and the ability to identify and report mechanical issues.
  • Familiarity with yard operation procedures, inventory management, and material handling practices to effectively navigate and operate within a industrial yard setting.
  • Understanding of spatial considerations, including the ability to maneuver in confined spaces, loading and unloading materials in an busy yard environment.

    Schedule : Monday - Friday, 7am-3 : 30pm

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional bending and lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
  • Ability to enter and exit forklift multiple times per shift as well as climb onto and off the forklift.
