Job Description :
This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work across both on-premises databases and cloud-based technologies. The position partners with information architects, application teams, and project stakeholders to develop, maintain, and integrate logical data models. Responsibilities include designing system solutions, implementing new features, resolving complex issues, enhancing monitoring and alerts, and consulting with support and development teams.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Collaborate in agile teams to define, plan, and execute work from a team backlog.
- Demonstrate technical leadership and apply engineering best practices to develop software solutions.
- Engineer and administer on-prem relational databases, with a focus on Db2-LUW.
- Develop and maintain Unix shell and Python scripts for automation, maintenance, and testing.
- Build and maintain CI / CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, CodePipeline, or CircleCI.
- Monitor and optimize system performance using observability tools like CloudWatch, Dynatrace, and the ELK stack.
- Apply DevOps principles and Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Participate in incident, problem, change, and knowledge management processes (ServiceNow experience preferred).
- Ensure secure operations through familiarity with certificates, firewalls, authentication, and authorization.
- Continuously improve team processes and contribute to a culture of experimentation and innovation.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.5+ years of professional IT experience.Proficiency in AIX / Linux operating systems and command-line interfaces.Experience with AWS Cloud Services (AWS certification preferred).Familiarity with containerized applications and orchestration tools.Strong scripting and programming skills (Python, JavaScript).Experience with networking, storage, and performance tuning.Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across teams and levels.Self-directed, adaptable, and comfortable working in ambiguous environments.Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.Preferred Experience :
Working knowledge of Jira for agile planning and execution.Experience with cloud technologies such as Redshift, Elasticache, Iceberg, Athena, and Databricks.Use of Terraform for provisioning AWS clusters and nodes.Familiarity with database tools like ELK stack, Dynatrace, and DBI.Experience with vaulting solutions like CyberArk and HashiCorp Vault.Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.Dashboard and reporting tools such as Grafana and Power BI.Understanding of cloud security platforms like WIZ.Team Overview :
