UNLV Athletics Director Of Facilities And Sport Operations

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for UNLV Athletics Director of Facilities and Sport Operations.

Role Of The Position

Under the general supervision and guidance of the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Game Operations, this position will have complete responsibilities over the event management and operations of several Olympic sports while assisting the Asst AD with the overall departmental budgets, schedules, rentals, staffing, etc.

This position will facilitate the organization, facility management and direct supervision of the MPE swimming pool, north and south gyms, and Olympic sport facilities that include the baseball, soccer, softball, tennis, and track and field complexes. For these areas this position will be responsible for rental agreements processes and the monitoring and tracking of Olympic sports' event costs and expenses to ensure adherence to the department's budgetary policies. This position will assist with hiring, scheduling, and supervising game operations staff, interns, and a student workforce as deemed necessary by the Assistant Athletic Director. In addition to these primary responsibilities, this position may be required to perform additional duties for other sports, including but not limited to, football and TMC / COX athletic events or other duties as assigned.

This position will be responsible for practice, game day, and event operational prep, to include : setting up and breaking down volleyball nets, soccer goals, field stripping (soccer, football, track, baseball, softball fields), field prep for baseball / softball games, tables and chairs for assigned events. This position works a variable work week to include evenings, weekends, and holidays often in the natural elements.

This position will have daily oversight of assigned interns and student workers throughout the sports' season. This position will set schedules, assign job tasks, and review performance of said positions.

This position should have a basic knowledge of NCAA rules as it pertains to assigned job duties and the scope of employment. In addition, this position will be responsible for obtaining proper guidance or approval from Athletics Compliance, prior to participating in select activities, as defined by NCAA bylaws or institutional policies.

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and / or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and a minimum of one (1) of comparable professional experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

Preferred Qualifications

Division I collegiate experience preferred.
