Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist Opportunity - Near Sacramento, CA

We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens position near Sacramento, CA. This role involves providing both clinic-based consultative care and performing GI procedures. The ideal candidate will be available to work for at least six months to a year. This opportunity offers a chance to work in a dynamic clinical environment and assist with the backlog of diagnostic and screening procedures.

Primary Duties :
• Setting

Clinic and outpatient

• Procedures

Colonoscopy and endoscopy, 2-3 days per week

• Patient Load

16-20 patients per day in the clinic

• 8-10 procedures per day in the outpatient center
• Consultative and Follow-Up Care

Provide care in the ambulatory clinic setting

• Support Staff

Assigned medical assistant and procedure scheduler

Key Responsibilities :

• Clinic Setting

The provider will work 5 days a week in an outpatient clinic setting.

• GI Procedures

Perform routine GI procedures such as colonoscopies and endoscopies.

• Call

Minimal call responsibilities, primary focus is clinic and procedures.

Requirements :

• Board Certification / Eligibility

Gastroenterology

• State License

Active California license required

• Gastroenterology Fellowship

Strongly preferred

• Malpractice

Clean malpractice history strongly preferred

EMR System :
• Cerner

Experience with Cerner EMR preferred

Credentialing :

• Emergency / Temporary Privileges
