Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, supporting occupational health and wellness initiatives. This role involves assisting with pre-employment screenings, immunizations, and regulatory testing, while maintaining detailed documentation and supporting nursing staff with workers' compensation and employee leave programs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Engage with employees and volunteers regarding health concerns and direct them appropriately within the department.
- Support new hire onboarding by conducting point-of-care urine drug screens, collecting immunization histories, and documenting health information.
- Assist with respiratory fit testing for new hires and annual departmental testing following established policies.
- Schedule appointments, ensure completion of necessary paperwork, and manage supply inventory for the treatment area.
- Serve as a liaison between occupational health leadership, nursing staff, and employees, handling communications and reporting.
- Conduct workplace surveillance to identify hazards and improper practices, reporting findings to supervisors.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism, multitasking efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Education :
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Medical Specialist program, or equivalent experience.High school diploma required.Experience :
Preferred : At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant or related medical specialist.Certifications :
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited organization such as AMT preferred.American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.Mental and Physical Requirements :
Ability to concentrate under pressure with frequent interruptions.Physical demands include sitting for long periods, computer work, lifting up to 15 pounds, standing, and various movements such as stooping and reaching.Working Conditions :
