Description : Position Summary :
The Nurse at Nexus Developmental Services of Nebraska will play a critical role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. This position ensures that all medical care aligns with individual support plans, promotes health and safety, and complies with regulatory requirements. The Nurse will provide training, oversight, and direct support to staff and individuals as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct initial and ongoing health assessments for individuals served by the agency.
Oversee medication administration and storage, ensuring compliance with state and agency policies.
Provide training to staff on medical protocols, including safety and infection control.
Work closely with Program Coordinators, Direct Support Professionals, and families to coordinate care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all individuals served.
Provide immediate medical care in case of emergencies.
Requirements : Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Nebraska.
At least 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a community-based setting.
Ability to pass a thorough background check as required by the agency and state regulations.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
