About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12 hours (19 : 00 - 07 : 30)

Experience : CVICU experience required. Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required. Experience in a cardiothoracic surgery and / or acuity adaptable area preferred. Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last three years.

License : Traveler must have a valid nursing license from their permanent address state.

Certifications : BLS and ACLS must be certified through the American Heart Association only.

Must-Have : Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to being cleared to start.

Description :

We are seeking a registered nurse to join the cardiothoracic surgery and transplant team.

This role involves providing high-quality care to patients on an acuity adaptable unit.

Nurses must ensure care is delivered with a mixture of technological expertise and a positive commitment to meeting patient and family needs.

Be an integral part of a team that provides care for patients requiring specialized care for cardiac and thoracic surgeries and procedures.

Care for patients undergoing heart and / or lung transplants and various medical devices is also part of this role.

The unit specializes in the care of cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplant, and cardiac medical patients.

Patients may include those undergoing CABG, valve repair / replacement, aneurysm repair, aortic dissection repair, LVAD, heart transplant, lung transplant, thoracic surgery, STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, heart failure, and arrhythmia management.

The nursing team for each shift typically comprises charge RNs and RNs in direct patient care assignments.

Staff assignments may change throughout the shift as patients are transferred in and out.

This role involves a wide range of acuity and support from interdisciplinary teams.

Planned and emergent procedures frequently take place on the unit, requiring flexibility and teamwork.

Special equipment utilized includes CRRT, IABP, Impella, HM3 LVAD, ECMO, and Zoll Thermoguard.

Weekend rotations and some holidays will be required.

Travelers are the first to float to other units based on current staffing needs.
