About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Must-Have :

• Telemetry experience
• MS / TELE experience
• Ability to interpret dysrhythmias
• Skills in starting IVs and managing PICC lines

Description :

This role involves working in an observation unit, managing patients with anticipated short stays of up to two midnights.

The focus is on providing high-quality, efficient care without premature discharges or admissions.

Patients are typically stable and unlikely to require an upgrade in care.

The goal is to ensure timely discharge within two midnights.

The unit is staffed with APPs and supervising MDs.

Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1 : 4, with a charge nurse on assignment.

Available resources include registered nurses, patient care assistants, and unit coordinators.

Common patient diagnoses include dehydration, electrolyte abnormalities, nausea, and vomiting.

The role also involves managing symptoms related to chemotherapy and radiation, as well as acute kidney injuries and urinary tract infections.

Palliative care, pain control, and post-procedure observations are part of the responsibilities.

Other special procedures include transition to hospice and PEG tube / line placement.

Equipment used includes Alaris pumps and Epic documentation systems.

Travelers will need to adhere to compliance processes.

Professional references are required, including one from a leadership position.

Only candidates with a valid nursing license will be accepted.

Education must be from an accredited nursing program.

Candidates must be aware of urgent compliance and credentialing processes.
