The Role
The Director of VCS Final Assembly and Test is responsible for all phases of integration, launch and delivery of a Naval Nuclear Submarine. This position is responsible for the Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost and Engagement of the construction and production teams supporting the program. The position operates in a fast paced environment where urgency and responsiveness are critical. This candidate should have demonstrated abilities to lead all aspects of oversight for scheduling, manning, progressing, materials, contracting and integration of this diverse and complex program. The preferred candidate will have solid communication skills and the ability to professionally represent the Program with the customers, such as NAVSEA, NRRO, SUPSHIP and Ships Force. Candidate should have the ability to collaborate and build teams in order to achieve project goals. Requires ability to maintain TLD radiological qualification to enter radiation areas. Ability to access the ship and vertical ladders greater than 25 feet is required, and ability to obtain fall protection, confined space entry, and fire watch qualification.
Must Have
NNS Apprentice graduate or Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of applicable technical experience OR Master's degree and 8 years relevant experience. A candidate must have a thorough understanding of construction, manufacturing processes, and operations.
Nice to Have
SUBSAFE re-entry controls experience and knowledge and prior construction, production and / or test leadership is preferred.
