Mission Graduates increases the number of K-12 students in San Franciscos Mission District who are prepared for and complete a college education. Founded in 1972, Mission Graduates offers a comprehensive range of afterschool, in-school, and summer programs, working to establish a college education as an expectation and goal for every child. Each year, Mission Graduates reaches over 3,600 low-income children, youth, and families in San Francisco, emphasizing college as a means to achieve economic equity and strengthen the fabric of our community.
Program Overview : The Extended Day Program (EDP) is an award-winning afterschool academic enrichment program serving over 1,000 students at eight schools : Alvarado ES, Bryant ES, Cleveland ES, Flynn ES, Everett Middle School, Marshall ES, Sanchez ES, and Thomas Edison Charter Academy.
Position Summary : Assists in the direct delivery of instruction in a classroom setting with pupils who have moderate to severe impairing conditions as determined by an individualized education program (IEP). The primary objective of such assistance is to affect learning for mastery by implementing both developmental and remedial methods in basic skill areas and content areas. The employee assists staff by implementing lesson plans (activities that include reviewing and completing pupils' work), participating in parent conferences, maintaining relevant records, operating instructional equipment in appropriate instructional settings, and performing related duties as required.
