Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Labor and Delivery Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 17 / 2025 Duration : 14 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Certifications Minimum Experience : 2 years (First-time travelers not accepted ) Required : BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Flu Vaccine : Required (Medical / Religious Exemptions Only) Preferred : AWHONN Intermediate Systems Used : Epic (Required) Pyxis SBAR Holiday Requirement : 1 holiday during assignment → must work it 2 holidays → must work both 3 holidays → must work 2 Major Holidays : Spring Break (April 6–12, No RTO ) Memorial Day Independence Day Labor Day Thanksgiving / Black Friday Christmas Eve / Christmas Day New Year’s Eve / New Year’s Day Skills & Competencies IV Therapy / Phlebotomy Administration of blood & blood products Drawing venous blood Starting and maintaining IVs Use of infusion pumps / drips / IV monitoring Labor and Delivery Management Amnioinfusion Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries Circulate for C-section Forceps / Vacuum extraction assistance Hemorrhage and shock management Post-C-section recovery Sterile vaginal exams Medication & Administration Antihypertensives Insulin drips Magnesium Sulfate therapy Pitocin (Oxytocin) Prostaglandins Terbutaline Neonatal Care in Delivery Room APGAR scoring “Baby Catcher” duties Cord blood collection ID / Security banding Radiant warmer use / Thermoregulation Antepartum Care & Procedures Assist with sterile speculum exams Non-Stress Tests (NST) Reflex checks, edema assessment, clonus evaluation Triage of obstetrical patients Postpartum Care & Procedures Breastfeeding and lactation support Episiotomy and incision care Foley catheter insertion and management Fundus, lochia, and perineum assessment Wound care and postpartum recovery Postpartum Care for Specific Conditions Cesarean Section Multiple Births Postpartum Hemorrhage Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension Vaginal Delivery Surgical Cases / Procedures Dilation & Curettage (D&C) Pain Management Epidural and General Anesthesia support Pain assessment and management Fetal Monitoring Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns External and internal fetal monitoring Intrauterine Pressure Catheter (IUPC) placement and calibration.
