Direct Support Professional

Are you a caring and compassionate individual looking to make a difference in the lives of others?

If so, then we encourage you to apply for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) position with the Fort Monmouth Day Program!

Our DSPs provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a variety of settings in the community and our facility.

We are looking for individuals who are patient, understanding, and have a passion for helping others. Our primary focus is to engage all program participants and help them develop skills for everyday living.

Shifts Available : 9am to 3pm

Location : Oceanport

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
  • Implement individualized support plans that focus on social skills, communication, and behavioral development.
  • Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to foster connection and engagement.
  • Monitor and document client progress, making necessary adjustments to support plans.
  • Collaborate with families and team members to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment during evening and overnight hours.
  • Qualifications :

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, compassionate, and adaptable demeanor.
  • High school diploma with qualifying experience
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a background check / Drug Screen
