Insight Global is partnering with a well-established Third-Party Administrator based in Illinois to identify a Senior Claims Adjuster. This individual will play a critical role in managing complex and high exposure claims with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in coverage analysis, liability assessment, and strategic resolution planning.
Title : Sr Claims Adjuster - Commercial General Liability
Location : Hybrid (2 days in office) - Downers Grove, IL
Pay Range : $45- 49.50 / hr
Position Overview
As a Senior Claims Adjuster, you will independently investigate, evaluate, and resolve claims—primarily in specialty areas—with settlement authority typically up to $10,000 for liability and $25,000+ for workers' compensation. You will be responsible for setting appropriate reserves, determining coverage, and negotiating settlements while ensuring compliance with client and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full life cycle of assigned claims, primarily in specialty areas.
- Analyze coverage and determine defense obligations.
- Conduct thorough investigations to assess exposure and recommend settlement strategies.
- Draft reservation of rights and coverage denial letters.
- Negotiate settlements with clients, attorneys, and public adjusters.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including outside experts when needed.
- Prepare reserve and settlement authority requests for client and carrier approval.
- Advocate for clients with carriers to ensure proper claims handling and resolution.
- Maintain compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Operate at full caseload capacity with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of Commercial General Liability (CGL) claims experience.Proven expertise in handling complex bodily injury claims, including slip-and-fall incidents.Strong background in premises liability, with the ability to assess physical location, condition, and operations in claim evaluations.Licensed / certified in all applicable states.Exceptional negotiation skills and ability to interpret complex claim documentation.Outstanding customer service and communication abilities.Demonstrated ability to manage a desk of 160+ claims with settlement authority up to $10,000.
