About The Role

Chime is looking for a Senior Manager, Policy Communications to define and drive how we show up in the fast-moving policy and regulatory landscape. In this role, you’ll lead 360-degree communications strategies that position Chime as both an industry leader and a champion for everyday people to policymakers, media, opinion leaders, and trade groups.

You’ll craft narratives that cut through the noise, spotlighting Chime’s role as a force for good helping millions unlock financial progress. This role blends strategy and execution—you’ll translate complex policy issues into clear, compelling stories that shape perception and drive outcomes.

We’re looking for someone who knows the policy and regulatory world inside and out, and brings strong relationships across the press and political circles. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of financial services, media, and politics, and knows how to tailor communications and campaigns to the right audiences. You’ll partner closely with Government Affairs & Public Affairs (GAPA), Corporate Communications, and senior leaders across the company, serving as a trusted advisor to elevate Chime’s voice at the federal, state, and industry levels.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $146,610.00 and up to $207,700.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits.

In This Role, You Can Expect To

  • Lead communications strategies that advance Chime’s narrative and federal and state level policy priorities, using earned, owned, and paid channels to amplify our voice.
  • Define clear, consistent positioning on key policy issues and translate complex topics into compelling content for both internal and external audiences, such as messaging frameworks, press releases, FAQs, and more.
  • Ensure alignment across Communications, Government Affairs & Public Affairs (GAPA), Legal, and Community teams, serving as policy expert for Communications team and communications expert for GAPA team.
  • Manage policy-related press inquiries, cultivate media relationships, and serve as a spokesperson on policy and crisis matters.
  • Partner with external organizations to advance Chime’s priorities and showcase our impact on the fintech industry.
  • Elevate executive visibility at policy-related events, leveraging senior leaders to strengthen Chime’s presence at the national and state levels.
  • Develop scalable communications programs tailored to state and local policy audiences.
  • Support the Corporate Communications team in broader corporate moments and issues including executive visibility, earnings, and rapid response situations.

To Thrive In This Role, You Have

  • 7–10 years of experience leading policy communications in a Congressional, regulatory, or public policy context, or at a technology, financial services company, or trade association.
  • Strong knowledge of the policy, regulatory, and political landscape in highly regulated industries, with expertise in financial services policy a huge plus.
  • Strong media relations experience with established relationships across key reporters, policymakers, and partners.
  • Exceptional writer and communicator who can turn complex issues into sharp, compelling narratives, and tailor them to policy audiences to shape perception.
  • Proven ability to build trust, drive alignment, and act as a trusted advisor to cross-functional partners.
  • High agency and low ego, with a bias for action.
  • Strong judgment and a track record of navigating high-stakes, fast-moving issues.
