Corporate Security Officer

Responsible for performing high-level Corporate Security Officer duties to ensure the successful and effective protection of employees, guests, and assets, and reputation within Hy-Vee's corporate campuses. Corporate Security Officers remain vigilant, act with integrity, uphold company policies and procedures, and conduct all interactions respectfully and tactfully.

Accountable and reports to : Corporate Security Supervisor; Assistant Director, Corporate Security. Positions that report to you : None.

Primary duties and responsibilities include : managing security operations posts, maintaining safe and orderly ingress and egress of corporate buildings, monitoring and responding to security system activations, conducting safety and security equipment inspections, monitoring CCTV security camera systems, leading response to critical incidents, maintaining competency in emergency medical response protocols, preparing and submitting detailed reports, and participating in Corporate Security meetings, training, and continuing education.

Secondary duties and responsibilities include assisting with the transfer of sensitive items and performing other job-related duties and special projects.

Education and experience required : high school diploma or equivalent, three to five years of military, law enforcement, or security-related work experience preferred, and ability to pass a criminal background check annually. Must be trained and certified in CPR and AED use, and possess a valid driver's license.

Physical requirements include visual acuity, ability to perform heavy work, and ability to perform various physical activities.

Knowledge, skills, abilities, and worker characteristics include commitment to the Hy-Vee mission, strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, ability to identify problems and develop solutions, proficiency with basic computer systems, and experience as an armed security officer or law enforcement officer.

Working conditions involve a fast work pace, frequent pressure to handle multiple tasks, and access to confidential information.
