Industrial Designer

Overview

Corning Optical Communications is seeking an experienced and talented Industrial Designer or Design Engineer to join our global Product Experience Design Team. In this role, you will collaborate with mechanical engineers, manufacturing experts, product line managers, and other stakeholders to support the delivery of market-ready solutions that clearly represent the Corning brand, meet customer needs and technical requirements. You will be supporting the design for a wide range of products including connectors, adaptors, fiber housings, accompanying tools, accessories, and aspects of packaging.

How You Will Make a Difference

You will be supporting the design for a wide range of products including connectors, adaptors, fiber housings, accompanying tools, accessories, and aspects of packaging.

• Assists in the conceptualization and iterative development of fiber optic hardware solutions for various market segments
• Create 3D models and prototypes that demonstrate functionality and appearance
• Leverages field insights to support customer research and value creation
• Participates in brainstorming sessions and design reviews
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to align design intent with project objectives and business goals throughout the project
• Prepares detailed design documentation and presentation materials
• Trains, educates, and advises on industry best practices for visual brand, design thinking and user experience

The range for this position is $80,130.00 - $110,179.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
