Job Title : Application Analyst

Position Summary
The Senior Application Analyst supports the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) by providing expert-level application analysis, troubleshooting, and workflow management across enterprise applications, including VistA Imaging and related systems.
This position is responsible for managing customer support workflows, analyzing system issues, implementing solutions, and ensuring high-quality service delivery for VA clients.
The ideal candidate has direct experience working within VA environments , understands VistA Imaging and ServiceNow workflows , and is comfortable collaborating across multiple technical and clinical teams. An active PVI GFE (Government Furnished Equipment) is preferred for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Application Expertise
- Implement and maintain customer support workflows across all touchpoints (releases, bug fixes, and support tickets).
- Assess, manage, and integrate enterprise applications ensuring alignment with VA business and operational baselines.
- Lead enterprise application integration efforts and oversee technical validation of deliverables.
- Develop and support technical strategies that improve operational efficiency across VA environments.
- Educate internal teams and VA stakeholders on best practices and system usage.
- Provide work direction, mentoring, and oversight for team members to ensure high-quality deliverables under multiple priorities.
Analysis & Problem Resolution
Research issues using documentation found on VDL for respective VI applications.Collaborate with T2 / Clin3 teams to obtain images or error logs for deeper investigation.Reproduce and analyze issues in the Analyst Environment, creating test data and verifying scenarios.Identify root causes, perform end-to-end testing, and validate solutions.Document findings (recreation steps, screenshots, scrubbed images, logs).Conduct Analysis Phase End Review (APER) sessions and communicate findings internally.Update ServiceNow (assignee to Project Manager; update notes to 2_core_work) and JIRA (upload documentation, assign to Dev Lead, update core_work_date).Complete Analysis Gate End Review and submit documentation to the Project Manager.Communication & Collaboration
Act as liaison between VA end users , CLIN3 teams , and internal developers.Manage ticket triage in ServiceNow (SNOW) and ensure correct routing and prioritization.Create and maintain MAXJIRA entries for ticket traceability.Coordinate meetings or demos with VA sites and internal teams to present findings and plan solutions.Technical & Domain Knowledge
Conduct workflow analysis and technology assessments to support sustainable VA systems.Provide guidance on adoption of emerging tools and processes enhancing developer and end-user experience.Demonstrate strong understanding of DICOM and IHE standards for interoperability across VA imaging platforms.Required Skills and Experience
Must Have :
Proven experience supporting or working directly with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) .Active PVI GFE preferred (or eligibility to obtain one).Proficiency in JIRA , ServiceNow , and VistA Imaging .Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Good to Have :
Broader VistA knowledge and familiarity with VA healthcare workflows.Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments.Highly Desirable :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum 5+ years of experience in enterprise application analysis, VA systems support, or healthcare IT.
