Project / System / Program Overview :
The Department of Children and Families (DCF) depends on its core mission-critical application, CT-KIND , Connecticut's Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) .
Implemented in 2025 and used by over 2,000 social workers and case managers, CT-KIND supports data capture and process functionality required by State and Federal legislation.
DCF has successfully met all 22 outcome measures under the Juan F. Consent Decree and continues to sustain these measures through robust information systems and technology support. The DCF Information Systems Division provides technology expertise, services, and infrastructure to support approximately 3,300 agency employees, ensuring technology solutions are cost-effective, efficient, and of the highest quality.
Scope of Work :
DCF is seeking two (2) hands-on Quality Assurance Automation Testers .
These testers will ensure new systems meet functional requirements while achieving service qualities such as performance, scalability, security, and maintainability. The role involves both manual and automated testing and requires active collaboration with development teams to design, improve, and validate enterprise applications.
Specific Services Required :
The QA Automation Tester will :
- Follow the core technology and architecture for automated testing of large-scale distributed systems, client-server, and multi-tier applications.
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and related technical documentation.
- Design and execute automated and manual test cases for applications, APIs, and integrations.
- Support end-to-end system testing strategies and ensure QA processes align with project goals.
- Participate in testing processes involving migration and integration of legacy and new systems.
- Review system requirements, test scripts, and workflows to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, system teams, and operations to ensure best practices for automated testing.
- Generate testing artifacts such as unit tests, regression tests, load tests, and code coverage reports.
- Ensure compliance with ADA / 508c / AWGA accessibility standards and cross-browser / mobile compatibility.
- Create automated test scenarios for Agile delivery teams to meet acceptance criteria.
- Maintain all testing libraries and automation assets to ensure they remain current.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand evolving requirements and ensure system reliability and performance.
- Demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
Required Skills and Experience :
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with QA Functional Test Suites such as UFT (Unified Functional Testing) .Automated testing experience for C#, WCF, jQuery, XML, JSON, Web API, SOAP, .NET, JavaScript .Hands-on testing with Web Services (REST, SOAP, WCF) and tools like SOAPUI .Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering , or a related field (or equivalent experience).Experience with Salesforce , Microsoft SharePoint , and .NET Framework .Knowledge of Mulesoft and Virtualized Hosting Environments .Strong understanding of SQL and database testing practices.Key Competencies :
