Position Summary : The Commercial Lines Agriculture Assistant Account Manager is responsible for aiding producers, clients, and account managers with service needs and making changes to existing accounts. Specific service and marketing responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ordering and issuing binders, certificates of insurance, policies, endorsements, and other related items using company and carrier systems and workflows. The assistant account manager must meet service and sales delivery standards and perform essential functions to the quality and service standards developed by the agency.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical support to Producers and Account Managers, specifically in analyzing client needs, coverage forms, and quotations.
- Submits applications to eligible and appropriate carriers; follows up to ensure timely receipt of quotations and policies.
- Order and issue binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and other related items; verify their accuracy; forward them to the client with appropriate correspondence.
- Determine if direct or agency billing is appropriate and invoice accordingly.
- Prepare summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals for word processing as needed.
- Process renewals in coordination with producers and account managers according to agency procedures.
- Review policy audits and verify accuracy, facilitate corrections, as needed, between client and carrier.
- Verify policy and policy change information, facilitate corrections when necessary.
- Process incoming mail and phone requests, respond promptly and appropriately.
- Determine reasons for cancellation requests; act to save accounts; notify producer.
- Process and follow up on cancellation requests to carriers to ensure accurate and timely resolution; maintain agency in financial equity whenever possible.
- Identify loss exposure and recommend appropriate coverages in coordination with the producer.
- Set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
- Maintain a cordial and effective relationship with clients, coworkers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.
- Stay educated and up to date on the latest industry standards, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance. Special focus on farms and agriculture.
- Professionally interact with others by utilizing good communication skills, through purposeful cooperation, and by providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve business and agency goals.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printer / copier / scanner / faxes.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m. with a 1 / 2 hour for lunch.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
