IT Specialist

Overview

Summary Of Primary Functions : This position is responsible for analyzing and supporting all information technology needs to include all areas of information systems (i.e. desktop and laptops, shop computers and applications), VoIP Phone system, LAN / WAN and Cell Phones.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support of computers, phones, printers, fax machines, mobile devices, and copiers.
• Analyze and troubleshoot remote computing components such as WiFi, Aircards and Windows Mobile devices.
• Provide basic training for IT products and programs to meet the needs of the region.
• Maintain, configure, and ensure the reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
• Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgraded IT infrastructure.
• Create and install new systems, transfer data, and / or modify existing systems, and set up new facilities.
• Monitor the functioning of equipment to ensure the system operates in conformance with specifications.
• Manage IT inventory and tracking of User IDs, hardware, and software licenses.
• Assist in development, tracking and maintenance of the regional IT budget.
• Maintain and document general IT support such as password resets, break / fix, and PC / Application troubleshooting.
• Travel to remote or branch locations as necessary.
• Install or assist service personnel in installation of hardware and peripherals on user premises.
• Load specified software packages into computers.
• Enter commands and observe system functions to verify correct operation.
• Respond to inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnose hardware, software, and operator problems.
• Instruct users in use of equipment, software, and manuals.
• Recommend or perform minor remedial actions to correct problems.
• Provide updates and completion information to management, service tracking systems, and users via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication.
• Replace defective or inadequate software packages.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
