Overview :

The Transportation Assistant shall provide for the arrangement of material movement of commercial carrier pick-up and delivery. 1st shift Temporary Mon-Fri 6 : 00 am - 2 : 30 pm

Primary Responsibilities :

• Prepares staging labels to be placed on cargo, ensuring it is loaded in the proper equipment.
• Assigns seal numbers to each domestic shipment to ensure the cargo is secure and not tampered with while in transit.
• Monitors shipment from time the driver leaves the warehouse until receipt of shipment at destination.
• Processed Bill of landing is signed once the bolted seal is placed in the door of the equipment.
• Ensures that all domestic shipments are noted in the weekly, monthly, and yearly reports.
• Maintains spreadsheet on domestic shipment reports for accountability.
• Signs proof of delivery from the receiver on the delivery date.

There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.

Education and / or Experience :

Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) experience preferred.

High School diploma / bachelor's degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Driving may be necessary.

Ability to work as a team member.

Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude towards work and the team.

Ability to operate skid steer, backhoe, mini-excavator, loader, trencher, etc.
