We’re building a new Integrated Services Team focused on supporting construction-driven projects, and we’re looking for a project manager who is excited to help shape and grow this effort.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Project Manager for our new Integrated Design Services Team , a group of dedicated engineers focused on supporting construction-driven projects with high-quality design services. This unique role bridges engineering and construction, helping broaden our integrated services, streamline workflows, and deepen relationships with our strategic industry partners.
The Integrated Services Team supports steel fabricators, steel detailers, timber providers, building system developers, and general contractors with timely, constructible, and cost-effective solutions. By separating architecturally driven and construction-driven projects into distinct team structures, we can improve delivery, reduce disruptions, and expand opportunities for our engineers to gain expertise in design / build practices.
Project Manager Responsibilities
- Lead and manage construction-focused design projects for the Integrated Services Team.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic partners including fabricators, contractors, and system providers.
- Supervise engineers and technicians, ensuring high-quality work and efficient operations.
- Collaborate closely with in-house construction managers and steel detailers.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship, helping staff develop design / build expertise.
- Coordinate proposals, scopes, budgets, and schedules to align with client and project needs.
- Review design deliverables for constructability, risk management, and code compliance.
- Support collaboration between the Integrated Services Team and KL&A’s other engineering groups.
- Foster strong client relationships through excellent communication and responsiveness.
- Support company growth by opening new project pipelines and stabilizing workloads through diverse project types.
Example Projects
Structural design support for steel and mass timber construction projects.Delegated design of stairs, rails, rooftop unit frames, mass timber components, and other building components.Pedestrian bridge design for detailing partners.Gap-scope design tasks that support both construction and architecturally driven projects.Qualifications
ABET-accredited degree in Structural or Architectural Engineering.Colorado Licensed PE or SE (or ability to obtain).Minimum of 6–8 years of structural design experience, including construction-focused work.2–3 years of project management experience.Strong knowledge of steel and timber design and delegated design practices.Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship, both presently and in the future.Bonus Qualifications :
Proficiency in Revit Structures.Experience with RAM and / or RISA analysis models.Background in design-build or delegated design projects.To Be Successful
