Oncology RN Job Details Location : Jackson, Mississippi (zip 39216) Healthcare Setting : Acute Care – Hematology / Oncology, Medical Surgical Contract Type : Travel Nursing Shift : 12-hour days (7a-7p) Hours per Week : 36 Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 3 / 2025 – End : 2 / 2 / 2026) Unit Size : 32 beds Nurse : Patient Ratio : 1 : 5 to 1 : 6 (adjusted for acuity) Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month Holiday Requirement : Rotating with regular staff Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1570 - $1680 per week Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of acute care or medical-surgical nursing experience Level 1 trauma nursing experience required Experience with high-acuity patients, lines, and chest tubes preferred EPIC EMR charting proficiency required Hematology / Oncology and chemotherapy experience preferred (ONC certification not required; manager will provide chemo administration training) Flu vaccine required (medical exemption allowed with documentation) Fingerprinting required prior to start (remote or in-person options available) Oncology Nurse Responsibilities Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to hematology / oncology patients Administer medications, including chemotherapy (training provided) Monitor and manage lines, chest tubes, and other high-acuity interventions Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Float between medical-surgical units as needed, within nursing skillset Document patient care using EPIC EMR Participate in unit orientation and ongoing professional development Maintain professional dress code (solid color scrubs) Apply now to join our healthcare team and take the next step in your nursing career with this rewarding Oncology RN travel nursing job in Jackson, Mississippi!
