The Role
QuidelOrtho is seeking a Senior Manager, Global Strategic Procurement - IT & Telecom to lead the global procurement strategy for IT infrastructure, software, cloud services, and telecommunications and AI categories. This role drives strategic category management and modernization initiatives to deliver cost savings and stakeholder satisfaction.
The Responsibilities
Own end-to-end contracting and renewal process for IT Infrastructure, Software, SaaS, Cloud Services, and Telecom agreements
Negotiate complex enterprise agreements, ensuring terms reflect fair market value and are credibly benchmarked
Structure commercial deals with Managed Service Providers (MSP) and Cloud Service Providers (CSP), including hybrid pricing models, consumption-based agreements, and reserved instance commitments
Challenge suppliers robustly to secure favorable commercial terms aligned with business needs
Ensure contracts comply with company guidelines and manage business risks effectively
Lead, develop, and mentor a team of 2-3 category professionals
Set objectives, conduct performance reviews, and support career development
Build procurement capabilities through coaching and knowledge sharing
Partner with IT and business stakeholders to identify redundant applications and consolidate software portfolios
Drive business process changes that reduce license counts and total cost of ownership
Develop proactive renewal strategies with early stakeholder engagement and risk mitigation planning
Leverage renewal timelines to maximize negotiation leverage and avoid auto-renewals
Develop and execute category strategies for IT and telecom spend aligned with business technology roadmaps
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency
Monitor category performance against cost savings, service quality, and compliance targets
Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to inform sourcing strategies
Lead IT procurement governance processes, presenting recommendations to executive leadership
Prepare business cases and benchmarking analysis for senior management approval
Track and report progress against goals and strategic objectives
Ensure compliance with financial policies and responsible supplier standards
Partner cross-functionally with IT, Finance, Legal, and business units to align procurement with technology roadmaps
Serve as primary procurement business partner for North America region
Facilitate alignment between procurement strategy and business objectives
Deliver annual cost savings and avoidance targets through strategic negotiations and portfolio optimization
Leverage spend analytics and procurement tools to identify savings opportunities
Track and report category performance metrics and supplier KPIs
The Individual
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field required
10-12 years in strategic procurement with 10+ years in IT Infrastructure, Software, Cloud, and Telecom categories
Proven track record managing global IT procurement with $200M+ spend responsibility
Deep experience in software licensing models, SaaS agreements, cloud services, and telecom contract structures
Demonstrated success in application rationalization and license optimization initiatives
Track record of delivering cost savings targets and strategic objectives
3+ years leading and developing procurement teams
Preferred Skills
MBA or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
Consulting background with structured approach to stakeholder engagement and problem-solving
Healthcare, pharmaceutical, or regulated industry experience
Professional certifications (CPSM, CIPS, CSCP, or equivalent)
Experience with IT service management frameworks (ITIL) or IT governance models
Understanding of ESG considerations in technology procurement
Track record of driving process improvements that reduce technology costs

Salary Transparency
The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $128,000 - $173,000 annually. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
