Process Automation Engineer at Bass Pro Shops
Position Summary
The Process Automation Engineer focuses on automation in the boat building industry utilizing both technology and engineering principles to overcome challenging obstacles.
Essential Functions
- Supports automated equipment troubleshooting.
- Programs robotics.
- Adjusts current models to maintain quality expectations.
- Programs new models.
- Participates in new product development.
- Includes new equipment to support manufacturing.
- Acts as a liaison between production and automation.
- Stays current on new processes and technology.
Experience & Qualifications
Preferred Degree : B.S. Engineering or Mechatronics.Experience : Engineering degree with 2-3 years of experience, Technical degree with 3-5 years of experience, or relevant skillset 5-7 years of experience.Knowledge, Skills, & Ability
Experience working with industrial control systems and / or robotics.Familiarity with Motoman robotics, Rockwell PLC, Fronius welding equipment preferred.Understanding of manufacturing techniques.Proficiency with welding, cutting, bending, joining, etc.Aluminum applications preferred.Proficient with the Microsoft Office software suite.Basic understanding of GD&T.CAD experience (2D and 3D preferred).Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work within a team.Self-motivated and able to work well with others.Travel Requirements
Occasional travel for training and new equipment buy-off activities; some travel may be overnight with an estimated less than 10% of total hours.Physical Requirements
Regular computer work, walking, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, etc.Independent Judgment
