Part Time Registered Nurse (RN) Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral & Facial Surgery Center is a two-doctor oral surgery practice with locations in both Joplin MO & Pittsburg KS. Our goal is to provide the highest quality care and the most advanced surgical techniques in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Job Summary :

An oral surgery nurse is primarily responsible for assisting the doctor in caring for and

monitoring patients before, during and after surgeries. The nurse will also work cooperatively

with the entire clinical team throughout all stages of the patient's experience – from

consultation through surgery and post-operative care, as needed. The nurse will also be

responsible for complying with and overseeing OSHA standards for the clinic. The nurse will

also be expected to provide high quality patient care, have excellent communication skills, be

highly motivated, dependable, able to multi-task, detail oriented, and work well with others as

part of the patient care team.

Schedule :

This is a part-time role 20-25 hours per week on average and would be primarily working in the Pittsburg, KS with some occasional shifts in Joplin, MO.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Reviewing medical histories with patients and patient's primary care physician or

specialists

Assessing the pre-operative patient

Starting IV lines

Administering medication

Assisting with IV anesthesia during surgery

Accurate documentation of patient medical records

Assisting doctor in surgery, as needed

Caring for patient recovery and discharge duties

Phone triage

Scheduling OR surgeries at local hospital or surgery center, as needed

Ordering clinical supplies and pharmaceuticals

Maintaining emergency cart and equipment

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

Associates Degree or higher in Nursing from an Accredited Nursing Program

Multi-State RN License

BLS Certification

ACLS Certification

Preferred Skills and qualifications :

Oral Surgery Practice Management Software

Proficient in MS Word

Proficient in communications technology (email, Teams, etc.)

The salary range for this role is $27 - $31 per hour.
