Job Opening With Linn County Sheriff's Office

Linn County Sheriff's Office is offering a full-time employment opportunity for a corrections deputy. The position is located in Albany, OR, with a salary range of $63,708.00 to $80,220.00 annually.

The job opening is part of the Corrections Division and is open until filled. The application deadline is July 31, 2025, at 5 : 00 PM Pacific Time.

The job requires maintaining custody and surveillance of adults in custody, processing intake and release, inspecting quarters, and controlling public movement within the jail. It also involves preparing reports, reviewing work assignments, and transporting AIC to courts and other locations.

Candidates must possess knowledge of modern policies, procedures, and techniques for the custody, care, and transportation of adults in custody, and have the ability to maintain order, supervise conduct, and exercise mature judgment in emergency situations. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with U.S. citizenship, a clean criminal record, and the ability to pass a background investigation, psychological exam, drug screen, and integrity interview.

The hiring process includes reviewing testing scores, NEOGOV application, captain's interview, oral board interview, and a conditional offer of employment. Additional requirements include passing a general physical examination, a comprehensive psychological examination, and obtaining the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training Basic Certificate and LEDS Certification within one year of appointment.

Applicants will also need to pass a written test and oral interview, be willing to work weekends, holidays, varying shifts, and extra hours, and possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license and an acceptable driving record.
