Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Benefits Partner who will be responsible for administering and managing our organization's employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and other supplemental benefits, by ensuring accurate enrollments, addressing employee inquiries, and staying compliant with relevant regulations while educating employees on their benefit options and maximizing plan utilization; essentially acting as the primary point of contact for all employee benefits related matters.

Benefits Administration

  • Manage day‑to‑day benefit operations (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement plans, wellness programs).
  • Employee education and communications.
  • Partner with payroll for deductions and reconciliations.
  • Serve as a liaison with brokers, carriers, and third‑party administrators.
  • Review service levels and resolve escalated team member issues.

Team Member Support & Education

  • Communicate benefit options and changes through open enrollment, orientations, webinars and ongoing education.
  • Assist team members with claims, eligibility, and plan questions, ensuring a positive team member experience.
  • Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure benefit programs comply with federal, state, and local laws / regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA).
  • Prepare and review compliance filings such as 5500 forms, nondiscrimination testing, and audits.
  • Support initiatives to improve the benefits of participation, cost efficiency, and team member satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align benefits with company culture and retention strategies.
  • Analyzing benefit usage data to identify trends and cost‑saving opportunities, presenting findings to HR leadership.
  • Leave Administration

  • Administer all leave programs including FMLA, ADA, state‑specific leave, parental, military and personal leave.
  • Track and maintain accurate leave records in HRIS system and ensure timely communication of return‑to‑work dates.
  • Provide guidance to managers and team members on leave rights, responsibilities and company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local leave laws.
  • Wellness & Engagement

  • Drive wellness initiatives and team member engagement programs (mental health, financial wellness, preventive care).
  • Coordinate educational webinars, health fairs, and campaigns.
  • Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in benefits administration.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits regulations, employment laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Analytical ability to review claims / utilization data, provide insights, and identify trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex benefits to team members.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, benefits administration platforms and integrations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate effectively.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • HR certifications (CBC, PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP / SCP, CEBS) are preferred.
