This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 2-3 days minimum per week in the office.
As a member of the Partnership Valuation Team within the Investment Accounting Department, the primary function of the Senior Associate is to support the quarterly fund accounting process with various aspects of investment-level reporting and other investment analysis.
The ideal candidate is someone who is :
- Able to work independently while managing the priorities of the team
- Able to multi-task and work with multiple team members and cross-departmental teams
- Communicates effectively both verbally and written
- Passionate about providing timely, accurate accounting and reporting while balancing multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, willingness to learn new systems and applications
- Interested in gaining exposure to a variety of private equity funds!
What you will do :
Quarterly Valuation Process (70%) :
Supervise data input of investment net asset values reported from underlying partnership investments in accordance with fair market valuation principlesReview work performed by AnalystsWork with other groups to obtain investment related information as deemed appropriateTrack, coordinate, and review partnerships for investment staff revaluationEnsure compliance with document retention policies and procedures related to partnership investmentsWork with auditors on aspects of partnership valuationDevelop and monitor exception based and analytical processes and reports to ensure data qualityCollect feedback from department on valuation process and implement process improvementsCoordinate to develop training materials and standard operating proceduresSystems Implementation & Support (20%) :
Collaborate on Firm and Department-wide transformation initiatives to improve workflows across the teamWork with external vendors on design and implementation of new software systemsWork on implementation and testing of new IT systems and system improvementsOther Projects (10%) :
What you bring :
Experience or familiarity with finance and basic accounting concepts required, partnership accounting or valuation experience highly preferredStrong attention to detailExperience training, managing, empowering, and leading junior staffAbility to train and lead a team of 1 to 3 staffStrong work ethic and collaborative approachEducation Preferred :
Bachelor of Arts (B.A) or Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Finance, Economics, or AccountingExperience :
4-6 years of finance, accounting, and / or private equity experience
