We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Conference AV Manager / Technician to support 2–3 corporate conferences annually. This independent contractor role is ideal for someone who thrives in live event environments, has hands-on experience with audiovisual systems, and enjoys traveling to deliver seamless technical execution.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to conference venues across the U.S. to provide on-site AV support
  • Set up, test, and operate audio, video, and equipment for general sessions, breakouts, and special events
  • Collaborate with event planners, speakers, and venue staff to ensure technical needs are met
  • Troubleshoot and resolve AV issues quickly and professionally during live events
  • Assist with staging, signage, and room layout to optimize audience experience
  • Coordinate with vendors to manage equipment rentals, deliveries, and returns

Requirements

  • Proven experience in live event AV setup and operation (corporate conferences preferred)
  • Proficiency with soundboards, projectors, microphones, video switchers, and presentation software
  • Experience with Zoom and running hybrid event setups for online attendees
  • Excellent communication and client-facing demeanor
  • Willingness to travel to 2 conferences per year (3 days each) Wednesday - Friday
  • Ability to lift and transport AV equipment safely
  • Bonus : Familiarity with hybrid / virtual event platforms and streaming setups
