Summary
We are currently representing a construction firm seeking a Project Engineer to support active work across Public Works and HCAI / OSHPD-regulated projects. This is a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented and career-focused individual looking to gain deeper experience in specialized commercial construction. The role involves supporting field and office operations, contributing to project safety, scheduling, documentation, and coordination from start to finish.
Main Responsibilities
Assist with jobsite safety compliance, documentation, and safety meeting facilitation
Support punch list creation, tracking, and execution
Contribute to QA / QC efforts by following and enforcing established standards
Manage RFIs and submittals from initiation to resolution
Monitor and report labor hours and assist with daily logs
Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with procurement processes
Help develop and maintain project schedules and look-aheads
Track and organize warranty and O&M documentation for closeout
Support purchase orders, vendor coordination, and invoice tracking
Collaborate closely with project managers, field superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field preferred
Equivalent industry experience will be considered
Minimum 2+ years of experience supporting Public Works or HCAI / OSHPD construction projects
Exposure to healthcare, hospital, or public agency construction strongly preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Familiar with Procore, MS Project, Sage, or equivalent project management platforms
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and scopes of work
