The position may also perform specimen grossing of surgically removed tissue under the supervision of the Pathologist. This job description reflects the essential function of the position, and it is not to be assumed that the principal functions are the only duties to be performed. Other duties may arise and be carried out as assigned to meet quality standards expected for patient care. All duties performed will be within the guidelines set forth by regulatory and hospital guidelines to maintain, manage, and assure specimen integrity. QualificationsJob Requirements : Bachelor's in histotechnology, laboratory science obtained from an accredited institution, OR bachelor's in biology or chemistry with education / training equivalent.Preferred Job Requirements : Experience within a clinical or anatomic pathology department.6 months' experience as a Histotechnician. Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
