BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Agricultural Engineering or equivalent experience.Required Skills
Strong understanding of drivetrain systems and engineering principlesKnowledge of EPDP (Enterprise Product Development Process) and PDP (Product Delivery Process)Proficiency in test execution, troubleshooting, and root cause analysisData analysis skills with tools such as DIAdem, DEWESoft, or MatlabStrong communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolutionAbility to work in a hands-on, shop floor environment (50% of time)Desired Skills
Internship or prior engineering test experienceFamiliarity with client business policies and standardsExperience with technical report writing using MS OfficeKnowledge of machine forms and competitor productsExposure to CAN systems or software controlsOur client is seeking a Drivetrain Systems Test Engineer to support drivetrain system development at the Waterloo Product Engineering Center. This onsite role offers the opportunity to work 50% of the time on the shop floor in a hands-on environment while also analyzing and documenting test results to support product delivery goals.
This position is well-suited for candidates who enjoy problem-solving, technical troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration. Recent graduates with internship experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
Typical Day
Manage daily test bay utilization and schedulingSet up drivetrain system tests : order and track parts, verify installation, and issue work ordersConduct shakedown procedures, validate test sequences, and execute testsTroubleshoot issues independently or with cross-functional teamsPerform inspections, rebuilds, and bay maintenanceAnalyze and validate test data, ensure quality, and archive results in VISIONDocument findings through technical reports and provide recommendations to support PDP / CI programsCommunicate test status updates and coordinate resources across teamsJob Duties
