About The Position

Must-Have :

Experience with complex wound care, drains, devices, traumatic injuries, chest tubes, and respiratory support.

Knowledge of TBI and complex spinal cord injuries.

Ability to titrate drips including, but not limited to, insulin and Cardizem.

Description :

This position is for a trauma and general surgery inpatient unit.

The unit serves both step-down and floor patients.

The nursing staff works with a diverse patient population presenting various care challenges.

Common patient diagnoses include multi-trauma, traumatic brain injuries, fractures, and general surgical conditions.

Nurses collaborate with care management, surgical and medical services, rehabilitation, and perioperative teams.

The unit is recognized for its comprehensive bariatric surgery services.

Nurses will manage patients requiring complex wound care and a variety of medical devices.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 6 for floor patients and 1 : 3 for step-down patients.

Nurses are expected to read cardiac strips and ensure patient safety.

Leadership support is available in the form of charge nurses and house supervisors.

The position requires nurses to float to similar units when necessary.

Weekend and holiday shifts are a requirement of this role.

The dress code is royal blue scrubs.
