Seeking a Part-time Physician

Family Practice / Adult primary care

Job Responsibilities :

  • ? Prescribes appropriate laboratory and diagnosis procedures related to patients health

status and facilitates appropriate treatment intervention predicated on results of these

procedures.

  • ? Provides comprehensive medical services for members of family, regardless of age or

    • sex, on continuing basis : Examines patients, using medical instruments and equipment.

  • ? Participates in quality assessment and improvement activities and achieves productivity

    • goals. Examination of patients, formulation differential diagnostic plans, defines and

    orders required diagnostic testing.

  • ? Determines need for consultation and assists in medical care and treatment provided at

    • the direction of other specialists.

  • ? Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide

    • information on patients condition.

  • ? Maintains accurate and detailed medical records about each patient, including

    • observations during examinations (via EMR).

  • ? Writes orders to inoculates and vaccinate patients to immunize patients from

    • communicable diseases.

  • ? Refers patients to medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patients

    • well-being.

  • ? Prepares records and reports as required in support of services rendered in accordance

    • with established procedures.

  • ? Attend and participate in patient care reports, patient care conferences, team

    • conferences, professional staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities

    only to the extent that such attendance and participation is relative to his / her assigned

    cases and / or performance of services as determined by the Medical Director.

  • ? Comply with all laws applicable to and practice within scope of Family Practice, including

    • HIPPA.

    Other related duties

  • ? Requires the ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, races, sexual

    • orientations and gender identities or expressions.

  • ? Employees are accountable for meeting performance standards of their departments.

    • They participate in compliance audits and quality improvement plans.

  • ? Education provides health teaching to patients and families, participates in

    • development and delivery of educational programs for area health care providers.

    Education / Experience Required :

  • ? MD, current active and restricted NYS license
  • ? Current CPR (BLS) certification (Required)
  • ? American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) (Required)
  • ? DEA Certification
  • ? 1-2 years experience in adult primary care

    • Other Related Skills / Experience :

  • ? Experience working in community-based health care settings is also preferred
  • ? Experience / An understanding of EMRs is helpful.
  • ? The ability to demonstrate teamwork and effective interpersonal relations skills is

    • imperative.

  • ? Excellent written / oral communication and computer skills are required.
  • ? Ability to foster and maintain a positive working relationship in a multidisciplinary team
