Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients across various settings, utilizing your expertise in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to individuals with mental health disorders, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients of all ages.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings.
- Provide medication management, including prescribing psychotropic medications and monitoring their effects.
- Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Offer psychotherapy and counseling services as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance treatment protocols and patient outcomes.
- Stay current with advancements in psychiatric care practices and regulations.
Skills : Candidates should possess a diverse skill set that includes but is not limited to :
Proficiency in EMR / EHR systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, eClinicalWorks.Experience in critical care settings, including ICU and emergency medicine.Knowledge of behavioral health practices and psychopharmacology.Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical documentation standards.Skills in patient assessment, triage, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and basic life support.Experience with various treatments including botulinum toxin treatment, dermal fillers, esthetic laser treatment, IV infusion, catheterization, and spinal tap procedures.Background in geriatrics, pediatrics (including experience with children), hospice & palliative medicine, home care, nursing home experience, and assisted living environments.Strong communication skills for effective patient interaction and education.Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while managing individual patient needs effectively.
