Job Overview :
As an Industrial AI Innovation Engineer, you will lead the identification, development and deployment of AI solutions to optimize manufacturing operations. You will bridge operational needs with advanced AI capabilities, driving improvements in productivity, quality, cost, and sustainability. You will collaborate with operations, data science, IT / OT, and external technology partners.
Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities :
- Partner with plant operations, engineering, and quality teams to i dentify AI opportunities across manufacturing operations.
- Develop & prototype AI solutions to address real-world operational challenges and inefficiencies.
- Define data acquisition & management requirements for industrial AI initiatives and collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data availability, quality, and governance.
- Utilize a disciplined and data-driven experimentation approach to idea vetting, ensuring precision and scalability in every solution.
- Maintain a prioritized roadmap of AI initiatives.
- Build detailed use cases with ROI projections and key performance indicators.
- Continuously monitor the AI and industrial technology landscape.
- Evaluate startups, vendors, and academic research to identify promising solutions.
- Manage vendor and internal team efforts to scale successful solutions across facilities.
- Ensure robust integration with manufacturing systems (MES, SCADA, PLCs).
- Monitor deployed AI solutions, ensuring ongoing performance and relevance.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on innovation activities, progress, and challenges for management review.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental policies, and occupational health and safety regulations.
Required Skills / Education / Experience :
The ideal candidate will have / possess the following skills / qualifications :
A bachelor's or master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, and / or 3-5 years of experience implementing AI solutions in operational environments.Additional experience in lean principles, AI technology scouting / development, supply chain and quality controls systems.Experience deploying AI models on edge devices and optimizing for real-time inference.Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate operational and industry needs into actionable AI solutions.Proven ability to identify and implement disruptive solutions.Strong entrepreneurial, critical thinking and curious mindset, with the ability to design experiments, iterate, and learn from failure.Familiarity with manufacturing data sources (PLC, SCADA, MES, ERP).Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Minitab, Smartsheets or MS Project; knowledge of advanced engineering tools is a plus.Integrity – adhering to high ethical principles and professional standards.Trustworthiness – Being honest, dependable, and earning the confidence of others.Excellence – consistently being the best you can be.Responsible – being reliable and trustworthy.Accountability – being obligated and willing to accept responsibility for one's actions.Dignity – behaving in accord with DMS basic principles.Respect – treating others as you would have them treat you.Ability to lead and motivate teams.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Able to work in a cross-functional team.Our Values : G ratitude
