Position Objective
To detect external corrosion, leakage, insulation damage, and coating abnormalities of process pipelines and equipment within the FPC TX complex. Use sensory or auxiliary equipment to conduct inspections to ensure the safe operation of equipment.

Varying levels of physical activity including climbing, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing and pulling. DEGREE OF LIFTING ON A REGULAR BASIS : 75 lbs
VII. VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED
1) The examination shall ensure natural or corrected near-distance acuity in at least one eye.
2) The applicant must be capable of reading a minimum of Jaeger Number 1 (or equivalent type and size letter) at a designated distance, but no less than 12 inches (30.5 cm) on a standard Jaeger test chart.
3) The ability to perceive an equivalent Ortho-Rater or similar test pattern is also acceptable.
4) This examination shall be administered annually.
1) The examination shall demonstrate the applicant's ability to distinguish and differentiate contrast among colors or shades of gray used in the specified method or techniques.
2) This examination shall be administered upon initial certification and then at five-year intervals thereafter.
3) For contrast among colors, the Ishihara tables shall be used.
Work Conditions
A. Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions not necessarily room temperature conditions.

D. Subject to extreme cold, temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
E. Subject to extreme heat, temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
F. Subject to noise, causing reason to shout in order to be heard above the noise.
G. Subject to vibration, exposure fluctuating movements of the body.
H. Subject to hazards such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemicals, gases, high heat or explosives.
I. Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by odors, fumes, gases, poor ventilation, and dust.
J. Subject to oils and other cutting fluids via touch or air.
K. Air density conditions causing the use of a respirator.
