Engineering Systems Specialist
Location : Tucson, AZ (Onsite)
Duration : 6 months (possible extension)
Overview
We are seeking an Engineering Systems Specialist to support system design, integration, and testing activities within a laboratory engineering environment. This position is ideal for an early-career engineer looking to apply hands-on problem-solving and technical skills to real-world system development and validation. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support new product and process development, troubleshoot equipment issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and testing of engineering systems and subsystems.
- Perform system integration and reliability testing , analyzing results to ensure performance meets specifications.
- Participate in design reviews , contribute ideas for process and product improvements, and support documentation updates.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues, determining root causes, and proposing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with other engineers to assess system interactions and manufacturing readiness.
- Document and present results, maintaining detailed technical records and promoting a “Quality First Time” mindset.
- Contribute to technical team meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.Knowledge of basic and specialized engineering principles and practices.Experience or coursework in system integration and design testing.Familiarity with technical documentation, data analysis, and report writing.Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to present findings clearly.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a hands-on environment.Nice-to-Have
Hands-on experience working with equipment or instrumentation in a lab or test environment.Exposure to manufacturing or product development environments.Familiarity with searching and applying technical literature.
