Job Summary : The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee.

Additional Department Summary : The Chemical and Biological Engineering Department at The University of Alabama is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral fellow position. This position is available to individuals with research interests in membrane-based separations and supramolecular chemistry, with expertise in computational materials science and engineering.

Successful candidates will hold a terminal degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field and demonstrate a record of academic achievement in research, with at least 10 publications in peer-reviewed journal articles. Initial appointments are for one year, with renewal contingent upon demonstration of research productivity and funding.

Required Minimum Qualifications : Doctorate. Additional qualifications based on assignment.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications : Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related field.

Candidates will need to have completed their Ph.D. or have it completed by the start of employment. Skills and Knowledge : Experience with molecular simulations and high performance computing demonstrated by several peer-reviewed publications. Understanding of polymers, membrane properties, and membrane-based separations.

Preferred Qualifications : Demonstrated ability in technical writing and supervision of graduate students.
