Echocardiography Technologist

Location

This position is located at a tertiary care hospital with a level I trauma center.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Rotating day shifts including weekends, with the expectation to work 1-2 weekends per month. Overnight call will be required 2-3 nights per month. Shifts are typically 10 hours long, either from 6 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM or from 7 : 00 AM to 5 : 30 PM.

Job Description

Join a busy inpatient echocardiography lab where you will provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. This role involves performing echocardiograms and contributing to a collaborative work culture.

Responsibilities

  • Perform 7-8 echocardiograms per day, including transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs).
  • Utilize advanced imaging techniques such as 3D echo and strain imaging.
  • Adhere to lab standards and protocols to maintain diagnostic accuracy.
  • Provide exceptional patient care and communicate effectively with patients throughout procedures.
  • Engage in continuous improvement through active participation in case reviews and educational opportunities.

    • Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of echocardiography experience.
  • At least 2+ years of acute inpatient echo experience in a Trauma 1 level facility.
  • In-depth knowledge of complex cardiac anatomy and pathology.
  • Strong time management skills suited for a critical care environment.
