The Special Agent conducts internal affairs investigations and reviews investigation requests received in OIA's Central Intake Unit under the direction of the Senior Special Agent, Office of Internal Affairs (OIA), and indirect supervision of the Special Agent In-charge. The agent monitors and manages a caseload of investigations to ensure efficiency, timeliness, and completeness. The role provides assistance to the Senior Special Agent related to investigations concerning employee misconduct and enforces Department policies in administrative and criminal law. The Special Agent will participate in service of search warrants, arrest, surveillances, and sting operations as directed.
Working Conditions
Regular and consistent attendance is required. The position is eligible for hybrid telework in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and will require reporting to the office as needed. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
