General Summary
The Quality Control Technician ensures that both incoming materials and finished products meet defined aesthetic and measurable standards through inspection, testing, and documentation. This role supports consistent product quality and helps identify opportunities for continuous improvement as quality systems evolve.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming materials and finished products for visual and dimensional conformity to defined standards.
- Perform first article inspections and in-process audits as needed.
- Use hand tools, gauges, and measurement devices to verify product specifications in both metric and English units.
- Read and interpret blueprints to assess product compliance.
- Identify and help resolve discrepancies in prints and bills of materials in coordination with engineering and production teams.
- Inspect finished products for paint quality, welding integrity, dimensional accuracy, and overall appearance, route items for rework when necessary.
- Document inspection results clearly and accurately; escalate issues when necessary.
- Tag and quarantine nonconforming materials or products.
- Maintain organized records of inspections and test results.
- Monitor inspection queue to ensure timely completion of work and minimize delays.
- Recommend improvements to quality standards or inspection methods based on observed trends and equipment capabilities.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with purchasing, manufacturing, engineering, and production teams.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support quality and production objectives.

High School Diploma or Equivalent2-5 years. experience in a manufacturing related quality positionCapable of lifting up to 50lbs occasionally and operating hoists when neededKnowledge of general hand useAbility to read and interpret blueprints using both metric and English measurements systemsFamiliarity with hand tools and basic measurement equipment (e.g., calipers, gauges)Comfortable working interpedently with minimal supervisionFrequent standing, walking, bending, and leaning throughoutthe shiftAbility to operate a hoist safety and effectivelyStrong attention to detail and documentation accuracyBasic computer skills : experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) is a plusFirst shift position, Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturday OvertimeEnercon Industries is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
