Role Summary
The Clinical Pathology Technician I will engage in pre-analytical sample processing, maintaining inventory, data collection, and review while supporting the larger Clinical Pathology team in completing studies in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner.
Role Responsibilities
- Basic sample processing for blood, urine, and cerebrospinal fluid in accordance with SOPs and / or Sponsor requirements.
- Sample container labeling in accordance with SOPs and / or Sponsor requirements.
- Short and long-term sample storage.
- Verification of sample accountabilities and manifests.
- Study protocol review.
- Collect and record data, both on paper and electronically in a laboratory management system, in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Assist with supply inventory and expiration tracking.
- Assist with equipment maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Role Requirements
High School Diploma / GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.6 months laboratory or sample processing in a GLP facility preferred.Behavioral Expectations

This role works predominantly in a laboratory. There will be exposure to potentially infectious materials and chemicals.Ability to don and wear personal protective gear for extended periods of time, including N95 masks and respirators.Physical Requirements : Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Flexibility to work beyond typical work schedule including evenings, weekends, and extended shifts with short notice on an as-needed basis.
