Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with at least one year of cardiac experience and current registration in echocardiography (RCS or RDCS).
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital setting within the Echo and Cardiac Sonography unitAdult and geriatric patient population with occasional adolescent and pediatric casesFive 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with variable start times between 7 : 00 AM and 9 : 00 AMWeekend rotation required with shifts from 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PMOccasional on-call coverage may be requestedFloating to multiple units or different locations within the organization may be required based on staffing needsExams performed using both stationary and portable equipmentIndependently perform and record transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms, including dobutamine and treadmill exercise stress tests and carotid duplex studiesCommunicate preliminary impressions to reading and supervising physiciansServe as a clinical instructor for ultrasound students, residents, and visiting physiciansMay participate in clinical research and act as a clinical resource throughout the systemTraining / orientation typically lasts one week and is department-specificScrub or dress code information will be provided by the departmentHoliday shifts may be requiredFirst-time travelers may be consideredNo references required for considerationRequirements
Minimum of one year of cardiac sonography experience requiredRegistered in echocardiography (RCS or RDCS)Current BLS certification through the American Heart AssociationGraduation from a CAAHEP-accredited ultrasound program or Associate Degree in Biological Sciences, Radiology, Ultrasound, or relevant health sciences fieldLicense required if applicablePermanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not acceptedPass / Fail telemetry exam required prior to start, with strict passing criteriaActive telemetry competency requiredBenefits
