As an attorney in our Health Law Service Line, you will engage in sophisticated and challenging health law work for clients in South Carolina and nationwide. The ideal candidate will have a portable book of business with at least 8 years of experience in health care law. The attorney will be responsible for assisting clients on various complex health and business law issues, including federal and state privacy laws, HIPAA, corporate law, compliance, audits, governance and clinical trial research processes. American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA) membership preferred.

This position will work in-person at our Charleston, South Carolina office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide sophisticated health law counsel to clients, including guidance on federal and state privacy laws, HIPAA, corporate law, compliance, audits, governance, and clinical trial research processes.
  • Develop and manage client relationships, leveraging an existing portable book of business (8+ years of health care law experience).
  • Collaborate with clients to address complex health and business law issues and deliver practical solutions.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Skills :

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • Minimum 8+ years' professional health law practice experience
  • Strong technological skills, including proficiency with practice management systems and portals
  • Superior research skills, including the use of online services and databases
  • Project management skills, including the ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Physical Requirements

  • Sitting position static for up to one-half hour at a time
  • Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to one hour per day
  • Bending and stooping occasionally, up to one-half hour per day
