Associate Medicare Star Ratings Quality Improvement Specialist

This position is available for hire in our east or west regions. Must be able to come on site at least two times per week.

Job Summary

The Associate Medicare Star Ratings Quality Improvement Specialist will support the execution of quality improvement strategies and reporting requirements for Priority Health's Highly Integrated Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (HIDE-SNP) contract. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services quality metrics and advancing CMS Star Ratings performance. The specialist will also manage and coordinate quality-related projects, collaborating across departments to drive measurable improvements in member outcomes and plan performance. Supports routine / fewer complex projects that are smaller in scope throughout the organization including both clinical and non-clinical areas to accomplish measurable quality improvement. Assists with analysis to measure the effectiveness of existing quality processes and helps to develop sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable quality improvements.

Essential Functions

  • Supports and drives improvement activities for accountable areas based on organizational priorities (project management, measurable deliverables, milestones, and data informed strategy).
  • Serves as a liaison between various departments across the Corewell Health System. Communicates, collaborates, networks with and acts as a change agent to key stakeholders. Also ensures continuity and coordination of services with appropriate utilization of resources. Responsible for stakeholder management across collaboration within dept and organizational resources.
  • Drives continuous assessment and improvements using appropriate tools and methodology within the business, assists stakeholders and process owners in prioritizing improvement opportunities.
  • Beginner at improvement science to drive quality performance in regulatory, accreditation and publicly-reported programs.
  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate benchmarked quality data and trends to improve outcomes.
  • Continuously develops quality improvement knowledge and skills.
  • Support strategic quality goal setting to influence strategic priorities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in a healthcare-related field
  • Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a healthcare-related field
  • 1 year of relevant experience in quality improvement, performance improvement, project management, or a similar role
  • CRT - At least one certification from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI)
