The Hub Manager of Watco Logistics is responsible for the overall "day-to-day" management of the receiving and distribution operations of a warehouse facility. This position plays a critical role in providing quality service to customers, encouraging team morale and performance, while maintaining a positive culture within the location. This position has various responsibilities of overseeing the receipt, sortation, and outbound transportation for the distribution of retail related equipment and other miscellaneous goods.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Including the Following (Other Duties May Be Assigned) :
Oversee the daily workflow of the warehouseOrganize schedules for team members to ensure proper staffing is on all shiftsHire and train new warehouse team membersConduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructiveManage the discipline and termination of team members as needed in accordance with the company policyOversee safety across facility campus inclusive of team members, visitors, and suppliersManage performance on safe transportation, distribution, and maintenance operationsLead transportation and warehouse team to deliver high levels of service and cost-effective practicesSetup warehouse layout and ensure efficient space utilizationInitiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational and safety policies and proceduresAdhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirementsMaintain standards of health, safety, hygiene, and securityExperience recruiting and contracting 1099 Independent ContractorsPlan work rotations, assign tasks to team members appropriately, and appraise resultsRecruit, select, orient, coach, and motivate team membersProduce reports and statistics regularlyQualifications / Skills & Abilities
A 4-year college degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management; or an equivalent combination of education and warehouse management experience.Warehouse Inventory and management knowledge recommended inclusive of procedures and best practices.Apply knowledge of organization, communication, conflict resolution, and time management skills.Experience in transportation modes inclusive of, but not limited to full truck load, less than truck load, parcel, and expedite.Ability to engage in oral and written communication effectively with team members and customersUse basic computer skills - Microsoft Excel and Word.Develop understanding of applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies.Develop understanding of WMS (Warehouse Management System).Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in a warehouse environment with frequent interruptions and regular high noise level.
