Join Our Team as the Associate Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology!

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? At NYC Health + Hospitals / Harlem , we are seeking a passionate and dedicated Associate Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology to lead our dynamic OBGYN department. This is not just a job; it’s an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of women and families in our community.

Your Role

As a leader in our busy OBGYN department, you will :

  • Oversee clinical, academic, and administrative functions.
  • Promote a culture of diversity, inclusion, and wellness.
  • Mentor staff and foster scholarly activities.
  • Ensure high-quality, equitable healthcare delivery.

About Us

Located in the heart of Manhattan, Harlem Hospital is a certified Baby-Friendly hospital, offering comprehensive maternal and gynecologic care, including :

  • Minimally invasive and robotic surgical services.
  • A 17-bed inpatient unit and 5 Triage beds.
  • A Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

    • With an average of 800 births annually , our commitment to excellence is backed by our academic affiliation with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons .

    Opportunity Details

    In this role, you will balance clinical, academic, and administrative responsibilities :

  • Clinical Expectations :

    • 60% clinical effort across various OBGYN areas.

  • In-house call coverage as needed.
  • Academic Expectations :

    • Promote scholarly activities and oversee research programs.

  • Mentor medical students and collaborate with advanced practitioners.
  • Administrative Expectations :

    • Foster a culture of open dialogue and wellness.

  • Ensure diversity and inclusion within the department.
  • Communication / Change Management :

    • Establish trust and collaborative relationships across teams.

  • Lead by example and promote a culture of accountability.

    • Qualifications

    We are looking for candidates who possess :

  • Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Leadership experience in a clinical setting.

    • Wages and Benefits

    We offer a competitive compensation package, including :

  • Annual Base Salary : $325,000 - $400,000 based on a 40-hour work week.
  • Projected bonuses up to $40,000 based on performance.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO) including vacation, sick, and CME days.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and prescription coverage.
  • 401(k) contributions with immediate vesting.
  • Loan forgiveness eligibility through state or federal programs.
